The Denim Brand That Every Fashion Editor Loves Just Created the Perfect T-Shirt

RE/DONE might have gained a cult-following thanks to their perfectly reworked Levi’s jeans, but today they’re proving that’s not all they’re going to be known for. Next step, t-shirts. With their eyes set on creating the perfect one, it seems only natural for them to join forces with Hanes, another major American heritage brand. “This is not a highly designed or conceptual tee, but rather a t-shirt based on the best vintage t-shirt one could find,” says Sean Barron, co-founder of RE/DONE. In other words, this collaboration is sure to become another successful attempt at capturing one of fashion’s many white whales.

Courtesy of the DesignerInspired by the silhouettes from the ’50s and ’60s, their first launch includes a slim crew neck and a boxy tee, both in black and white. While the brand does not apply the same design philosophy as their reconstructed jeans, RE/DONE and Hanes aim to achieve a similarly sustainable product made in the USA. The duo have engineered a soft cotton that mimics the look and feel of shirts from Hanes’ vintage archives, a logical conclusion seeing as how you can barely keep a white T clean for a few hours much less thirty years.

New colors, styles, and menswear are expected to follow this collaboration, but we hope it doesn’t stop there. Fingers crossed that shoes and accessories are on their horizon!
