‘It began to fall out of my head’: Keira Knightley opens up about shock hair loss
The actress has turned to wearing wigs
Keira Knightley might be a style icon but even she has faced some beauty dilemmas of late.
The actress has revealed that her hair became severely damaged due to her dyeing it frequently for various film roles and it even started to fall out.

It’s forced Keira, 31, to take drastic action and she’s started wearing hairpieces when she’s filming instead.
‘I have dyed my hair virtually every colour imaginable, for different films,’ she explains.
‘It got so bad that my hair literally began to fall out of my head.
‘So for the past five years I’ve used wigs, which is the greatest thing that’s ever happened to my hair.’
Keira certainly has been a bit of a chameleon when it comes to her locks in the past.
The movie star sported a blonde bob when she shot to fame in Bend It Like Beckham back in 2002 and then switched to long dark locks.
Then in 2004 she dramatically changed things up with a short bleached crop for her role in Domino and has since tried out all sorts of colours and cuts over the years.
Fortunately Keira has noticed her tresses becoming a bit livelier again since giving birth to daughter Edie last year.
‘I have naturally crazy, curly hair – and since I’ve had the baby, it’s become 10 times thicker,’ she tells InStyle magazine. ‘So now I’ve been finding quite a lot of dreadlocks.’
Becoming a mum to her first child with husband James Righton hasn’t just affected her hair – it’s also changed her skin too.
‘My skin has also become significantly drier with age,’ says Keira. ‘So I moisturise and I try to drink as much water as possible.’
After taking some time out since becoming a parent, Keira and her newly bouncy barnet will be returning to our screens soon by the sound of things.
The actress has apparently signed up to play the Sugar Plum Fairy in a live-action version of The Nutcracker, and she was also spotted filming drama Collateral Beauty in New York earlier this year.
