Ana Khouri charmed Andam’s jury with her ergonomic, almost anatomic approach to jewelry and won the 2017 award for accessories. She reveals how this recognition will influence her future design.
During her sculpture studies in Sao Paolo, Ana Khouri was already designing pieces that molded to the body and responded directly to it. To this day, her approach to jewelry-making is the same: anatomic forms that establish a close connection with the wearer and help her shine.
Awarded the Andam prize last month, she explained what this means for her, saying: 'I have always admired French artists like Rodin, Monet, Marcel Duchamp and Louise Bourgeois. So, beyond the immense honor of having won, I hope that this award will give me the opportunity to start working with French artisans and also open a studio here. It would be a dream come true. There is no doubt that French culture will continue to influence my work.’
