BACKSTAGE at the Burberry Prorsum autumn/winter 2013 show in February we spotted models’ nails being painted a rich, glossy oxblood – a first for the brand who until that point had limited its make-up collection to a tight edit of classic lip, skin and eye products. We waited and we waited, and at last Burberry is launching its first ever range of nail polishes, a classic trio of Poppy Black, Stone and the aforementioned Oxblood, designed under the creative direction of Christopher Bailey.
Just as perennial as one of the brand’s famous trenches, the three polishes boast a strengthening and moisturising formula with antioxidant pro-vitamin B5 and myrrh extract. In the same way that Henry Holland’s new Elegant Touch collaboration perfectly sums up his playful spirit, these classic, ladylike shades really couldn’t be more Burberry-appropriate.
Burberry nail polish launches in September.
